Our mission is to empower families with the tools and knowledge needed to safeguard our cultural legacy for future generations. While our current focus is on artisanal art, our vision extends to encompassing the preservation of music, dance, culinary traditions, and oral histories
Our Team
Jeanette Abrajan
Founder
With a rich background spanning two decades in education, Jeanette has dedicated 19 years to bilingual and ESL education in and around Austin, Texas. Her journey began in the vibrant border town of Del Rio, Texas, where she was immersed in a thriving Hispanic community. Inspired by Del Rio’s Casa de Cultura, Jeanette is passionate about creating safe spaces for learning and preserving Mexican cultural traditions such as artisanal arts, authentic recipes, regional music, and dance.
Education/Career
Jeanette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master's in Education Administration. Her career has been diverse, ranging from teaching Pre-K to 5th grade to serving as a certified school principal. She has also excelled as an instructional coach, providing valuable support and professional development to educators. Currently, she serves as a Dual Language Specialist in Pflugerville ISD, where she continues to champion bilingual education and cultural awareness.

Our Creative Director excels at finding talented collaborators to bring our Mexican American heritage events to life. They meticulously design and refine workshops, ensuring each activity resonates with cultural authenticity and joy. From vibrant fiestas to engaging papel picado sessions and mariachi performances, they create programs that connect participants to their roots. Their innovative approach fosters creativity and unity, making every event memorable and impactful.
